Cuppa and Cake – for Families of Autistic Children aged 11-18, plus invited guests
We are very excited to offer a face-to-face monthly Get Together for parents & carers at the Autism HUB in Gordon Street, South Shields. Please note: Places will need to be booked to attend.
All groups at the Hub are free to attend and are for parents & carers who live in South Tyneside. It is a chance to come along and meet and chat with other families as well as our experienced family support team. We are expecting spaces to fill up fast, so please book as soon as possible.
We will be joined by Jaki & Rachael, South Tyneside Council’s Independent Travel Trainers to discuss and share ways in which their service can support families and their children/young people: including:- Independent travel support, Applying for free concessionary travel passes, Using Apps to track and support, Road safety and personal safety, Understanding landmarks for travel guidance, Trusted adults when out and about, Safe place discussions, The ‘what if’s’ and lots more.
We also have additional guests joining us for this session. Laura Bushell – Supported Internship Co-ordinator, South Tyneside Council and a new intern who will be joining us as we focus on transition this month.
